Frequently Asked Question

Q: What types of cards do you accept for grading?
A: We currently accept all standard-sized (2.5" x 3.5") Trading Card Games, including Pokémon, One Piece, Lorcana, and Sports Cards. For oversized or thick memorabilia cards, please contact us for a custom consultation.

Q: How is RSL.Lab different from other grading services?
A: We combine traditional expert grading with cutting-edge technology. Every RSL.Lab slab features an integrated NFC chip for instant digital authentication, ensuring your asset is secure, verifiable, and future-proof.

Q: How should I prepare my cards for submission?
A: To ensure the safety of your collection, we recommend placing each card in a penny sleeve and a semi-rigid holder or toploader. Please avoid using tape directly on the card holders.

Q: Does the grading time include shipping?
A: The turnaround time (Standard 10 days / Express 5 days / Priority 2 days) begins the first business day after your package is physically received at our laboratory. It does not include return shipping transit time.

Q: Are the return shipments insured?
A: Yes. All return shipments via J&T include complimentary insurance to protect against loss or damage during transit. For exceptionally high-value submissions, please reach out to discuss additional coverage options.

Q: Can I change my service level after submission?
A: Service levels are locked in once the grading process begins. If you need to upgrade to Express or Priority, please notify us within 24 hours of your package arriving at the lab.

Q: What grading standards does RSL.Lab use?
A: We evaluate cards based on four core sub-grades: Centering, Corners, Edges, and Surface. Every card is meticulously inspected under high magnification and specialized lighting to ensure precise and consistent final grades.

Q: Do you grade autographed or error cards?
A: Yes! We accept both pack-pulled and in-person autographed cards, as well as factory error/miscut cards. Autographs undergo an authentication check before being encapsulated in our custom slab.

Q: What happens if my card is determined to be fake or altered?
A: Cards identified as counterfeit, trimmed, or altered will not be encapsulated and will be returned to you. Grading fees are non-refundable, as the full technical authentication process is still conducted.

Q: What information is stored on the RSL.Lab NFC chip?
A: Tap the NFC chip with any smartphone to instantly launch your card's official digital certificate. It displays the unique Serial ID, high-resolution card scans, sub-grade breakdowns, grading date, and digital verification status.

Q: Do you offer a Re-holder service if my slab gets scratched or damaged?
A: Yes. If your slab is scratched, cracked, or you wish to upgrade to our latest slab design, we offer a discounted Re-holder service without changing your card's original grade.

Q: Can I drop off my submission in person?
A: Yes! In addition to tracked shipping, we accept in-person drop-offs and pick-ups at our laboratory or official pop-up booths during select trading events by appointment.

Q: What if I make a mistake on my submission form details?
A: No worries. Our intake team cross-references every physical card with your form. If there are minor discrepancies in set names or card details, we will update the records and verify them with you before grading begins.
